Natalia Escoriza 2002


Natalia Escoriza is a family specialist who has built a solid family practice covering all areas of family law. She undertakes a significant amount of public law work which includes physical and sexual abuse of children, mental health issues, drug and alcohol abuse, Special Guardianship applications and adoption. She has dealt with a number of cases involving parties who do not speak English as their first language and require an interpreter. Her calm approach and detailed preparation make her very popular with solicitors representing disadvantaged clients. Her private law practice includes cases involving abduction, removal from the jurisdiction or transfer of jurisdiction, children being separately represented and Schedule 1 Children Act applications. Natalia also acts in injunctive proceedings and at all stages of ancillary relief cases.

Natalia has recently been appointed to the Calderdale Education Appeals Panel and is a qualified civil and commercial mediator.

• Removal from the jurisdiction

• Cases involving applications to the International Child Abduction Unit for return of children from outside the jurisdiction.

All areas of injunctive work are undertaken, including applications for:

Notable Cases

Birmingham City Council v R [2007] 1 FLR 564

Assisted Michael Harrison QC during his involvement with this case in the interim stages, and represented the Local Authority at an interim directions hearing.

Re AZ (Child) (Relocation to Poland) [2016] EWFC 8

Application to permanently remove child from the jurisdiction. Consideration of principles in Re F, and the need for CAFCASS to conduct a sufficiently balanced (‘holistic’) welfare analysis when addressing issues in respect of relocation.
